Lunawood creates a homelike, refined atmosphere in public buildings and private homes. Resin is removed from the wood in the process and no other chemicals are released into the air either. The typical smoky smell of thermowood disappears in time. In addition to the light boards (thermo-S), which are excellent for indoor use, the darker variety (thermo-D) can also be used.

Lunawood products are excellent for interior panelling, flooring, and sauna premises.

Interior panelling products

Thermal modification of wood improves the wood’s thermal insulation properties, which makes Lunawood cladding boards energy-efficient. Interior panelling boards can be painted or treated with wood oil, wax or paraffin oil that not only protects the wood but also accentuates its naturally beautiful appearance.

Flooring

Lunawood is through-coloured, which ensures that the floor can be sanded several times without the wood losing its colour. Flooring boards are easy to install and safe to work on. Installation is similar to normal wood and the boards can be surface-treated at the site. Thermowood is an excellent choice for people who want pleasant, warm, and stylish flooring at their home. Products are available with both side grooving and end matching. In addition to pine, flooring is also available in birch and ash on request.

Sauna products

Lunawood does not conduct heat or absorb water. This is a great advantage for products used in benches, ceilings, and walls in saunas. Products are also hygienic and do not contain nutrients for bacteria. Because resin is removed from the wood during the thermal modification, also pine can safely be used as sauna materials. The boards are easy to work on and surface-treat with paraffin oil and similar products. The products are easy to keep clean without harmful detergents – surface cleaning is sufficient.
